Illusticon was created to provide developers, designers, and creators with instantaneous access to high-quality, perfectly stylized iconography and graphics completely free for commercial use.

Tired of endlessly searching for the perfect transparent PNG or navigating restrictive and expensive stock photo licensing, we decided to leverage modern rendering engines to build the ultimate open-source graphical asset library.

The Pipeline

Behind the scenes, Illusticon is powered by a heavily optimized ingestion pipeline. Our isolated backend automatically synthesizes assets, scrubs alpha channels to generate perfect drop-shadows, calculates semantic HTML bounding boxes, and securely stores the arrays on high-speed S3 Edge nodes.
